Becoming a Spartan

I made Dan leave the light on this morning when he was going to work or else I would have just stayed in bed... as i did Monday morning and i am just kidding myself if i think i'm going to go for a run when i finish work at 7pm.... so i did it... dragged my ass out of bed to be faced with 40 knot winds... for a fleeting moment i had a "this is a good enough excuse to stay in bed" moment and then said to myself... what is it u want... comfort or accomplishment??? so i kept going...

then whilst i was running i was trying to think of a way to stop the boozing during socialising and remembered back to when i was doing a previous 12 week program and went 6 weeks without touching a single drop and remembered Dan saying to me " you're being such a spartan and i'm so proud of you" and i could remember how good that felt.... so i'm carrying it with me. There's only 10 weeks til i see Rae and coach and want to be ready for it SO badly!! So am going to try and have Sunday as my 'let my hair down' day and just focus on the weeks... i've been struggling a bit with consistancy... but i tell ya what... having this goal is enough to force me to keep pressing on!!

Tricks to get you out of bed... I say to myself "who do you want to be today, the old me or the new me?" - that usually gets my butt into gear!! Leaving the light on is a good one too! Good on you for getting out and running in gale-force winds!

I cant believe you went 6 weeks without alcohol!!! I thought i was good with my record of 2 weeks!! I used to love a drink every night after work, but I dont do that anymore - now I just have a few drinks on the weekend. You'll be awesome in 10 weeks!

I think we all suffer trying to get out of bed don't we!! I use... "You know how much better you'll feel after it. You'll feel like a fat pig if you don't...now what's better?" hehe
That run sounds challenging, always is fighting the wind!!
So how often/far do you run? Are you training for any fun runs or anything like that? Running is just the bestest :)
10 weeks... you'll look great!! I have my sis' wedding in 9... let's do a mini-challenge together!!!
